Azalea Super Red

Azalea Super Red is a small, bushy, evergreen shrub with large, bright red, double flowers which are in mass in spring with spot flowering during autumn.

It prefers a part shade to full shade position with a well-drained, humus rich soil that is slightly acidic. Is hardy once established. Prune after flowering to maintain a compact shape, mulch well during extended dry periods and fertilise with an Azalea specific or a complete organic fertiliser in spring and late summer. If flowers are becoming mushy this might be a sign of petal blight, pick off and dispose of then treat with appropriate fungicides. Azaleas are also susceptible to insect attack, treat with appropriate pesticides.
